Keeping Kids Warm Project

The true meaning of the holiday season is captured each year in the smiling faces of the children in the RCSD, Gates, Greece School District. The Scott Spino Foundation surprises these children with a new coat, hat, gloves, scarf, and books to keep them warm and cozy during the harsh winter months. Each year, the “Keeping Kids Warm” Project, warms over 2000 children in the Rochester community. The children’s heart-warming expression of appreciation and gratitude are captured in the twinkle of their eyes as they proudly model their new outerwear. Every volunteer is moved by the unsolicited hugs of appreciation as the children realize that these gifts of warmth are theirs to keep. And who would not be touched by the hand-written, art-filled notes of “thank you” to strangers who cared enough to make a difference in their lives. The “Keeping Kids Warm” project is made possible each year by the various Scott Spino Foundation fundraisers, and by private donations of individuals who want to give back to our community. Their generosity has provided a great deal of happiness and joy in the lives of these special and loving children.
