A quick summary of strictly numbers about the Foundation that we wanted you to know:

Literacy Program

Then

The Scott Spino Literacy Program was established at Lincoln School 22 in September 2005.  We had over 175 volunteers reading one on one to children in grades 2 & 3 each month.  We gave away 1,700 books by the end of the 2006 school year.

Today

The Scott Spino Literacy Program provides books and volunteers in 19 schools in 6 different School Districts – we give away approximately 1,700 books each month (17,000 books per year) and have over 300 volunteers who read to children in grades K-2 on a monthly basis.

Warm Project

Then

We began the Warm Project in December 2005 at Lincoln School 22.  500 children received new coats, hats, and mittens for all grade levels at the school.

Today

The Warm Project has expanded to meet the needs throughout the Greater Rochester Community.  Last year, we purchased and outfitted children with the following:

1,200 new coats

3,000 new hats

3,000 new gloves

Scholarships

Then

$250 to two scholar athletes at Arcadia High School

Now

$2,000 to two scholar athletes at Arcadia High School

$500 to two Literacy Program volunteers
